Link to a menu in an Attached External VTS

Postby peterlloyd » Wed Sep 18, 2013 9:31 pm

Is it possible to link from a project to a menu other than Root in an Attached External VTS in DLP?
All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the method is essentially the same as in a normal project, except you will either need to pre-plan your VMs a bit before compiling the external VTS or use PGCEdit to add the commands to the IFOs.

The principle is to test a GPRM for a certain value in the hidden Root VM object (VTSM PGC#1) of the external VTS and LinkPGCN from there. For example:

You want to link from a button in the main VMG menu to a non-Root VTS menu.

Easiest is to add a VMG Bridge or a VM object, end-link it to the External VTS's Root menu, then link the button in the main VMG menu to that object.

When the link will be activated and navigation reaches the VTS's Root VM object, GPRM11 will contain the OUT node of the VMG VM/Bridge object.

In the external VTS there then should be a PRE command "if (GPRM11 == xx) LinkPGCN yy"
