Hi all .. long outside (no time)

Do not know if this can help, but this is my experience:

Direct play for the first time is required to run both MMB to run applications created with, this is no problem (at least for now) because Windows 10 installed that feature if it is required.

build 10240 (Initial Release July 2015)

x32 > ok (do not need any method to work ok)
x64 > dgilmour MMB64.exe > ok

build 10586 (Threshold 2 / November Update)

x32 > ok (do not need any method to work ok)
x64 > dgilmour MMB64.exe > ok

build 14393 (Anniversary Update)

x32 > stop working / crash
x64 > stop working / crash

temporary solution that works (not 100%) for me both x32 / x64

go to the compatibility tab> Settings> mark choose "8-bit color (256)" box "mode reduced color">.

The look is not pleasant but at least for now works for me.

Moreover all know that Oscar gave MMB ended and now (since some time ago) is legacy, therefore it was impossible to update MMB (hopefully) think that those who continue to use Microsoft should report this problem ..

a) submit reports when running compatibility tool
b) Windows 10 HUB
c) Microsoft support forums

If we create a topic about the problem maybe we listen .. at least it seems that if they do partly with Windows Insiders

I'm using a script to start MMB:

Code: Select all
taskkill /f /im MMBuilder.exe
taskkill /f /im MMB64.exe
taskkill /f /im MMBuilder.exe
timeout 1
start "" MMB64.exe
start "" MMBuilder.exe
exit

MMB.exe has these options

Sometimes MMB starts the first time - if not, I just run the script again until it shows up.

install MMB not on system drive
MMB need write permissions !!!

sample:

d:\mmb\
d:\multimediaBuilder\
d:\applications\multimediaBuilder\

you have not a second drive?

try this:

c:\Users\Public\multimediaBuilder
c:\Users\<YOUR PC NAME>\multimediaBuilder

also use Dgilmor`s MMB64.exe too (i dont need this)

That's why you can set admin permissions and place it on C:

I have just uploaded new build of the MMB64 utility which seems to be a bit stable than previous, try it if you have experienced MMB hanging on startup even if launched by MMB64 - hope it is eliminated now.

Download link is in initial post, file is uncompressed.

Great ! :D
I was searching desperately for a solution with virtual PC or a LINUX XP emulator... but found me in a dead end. :?
I thought that all my MMB programs were going to disappear with the rare PC with XP left (I had a lot of problems trying to run MMB with the first version of MMB64 on computers with Windows 7 or 10) :(
Thanks a lot
