The palette is half white and half black. I have not tried just white on black. You might need to add an all white palette to make that work.
Interesting idea.
If you want I can toss one in quickly and put it back up in the DAP Cafe.
Let me know how you prefer to do it.

You can in an editing program such as Paintshop Pro or Photoshop invert the image to achieve that effect

Nice one, Dale. Here's a play running the same image once using palette 3 and once with B&W palette. I layered & blended the B&W over the first to add definition. Also increased local contrast a tad

Really like what Roc did and will have to give that technique a try as well.

Thanks for sharing, Dale.

I'm glad you appreciate it, Gene.
I've been having a lot of fun with it myself.

Rough Sketch! zip problem

Postby anecessaryevil » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:51 pm

Okay, I apparently really messed up in getting Rough Sketch! into zip form. Rocambole pointed out the problem so I have corrected it and replaced the zip in the Cafe with the corrected one.
For those who don't want to download and unpack the zip again, the problem was the tiny AOP menu image was left out so here it is. Download this and put it in your Objectpacks directory.

Novelty AOPs?

Postby anecessaryevil » Sat Dec 18, 2010 6:35 pm

There are typefaces that are considered novelty faces because they are over the top in design and are mostly good for attention grabbing titles and logos and the like but totally inappropriate for most standard type uses.
There can also be novelty AOPs that are good for a few types of images but not for most everyday photos.
Is anyone interested in starting a collection of novelty AOPs? They could be put in the DAP Cafe with the word Novelty in the title.
Those of us who make AOPs sometimes have an idea that does not work out for a general AOP but is great for limited use and then there are the AOPs that use weird brushes and other variations.
Any interest from anyone else?

Yes I made an AOP out of Grinder marks from an Old VW that had many colored grind marks, so it worked for me
if it was out there I could probably get some feedback advice on making it better.
Although it works well for my uses it probably could be tweaked for general use..

Good Idea Thanks hope it can happen..

Why don't you put it up in the DAP Cafe with the word Novelty in the Cafe title. I have one I call Blobby because the brushes are mainly liquid blobs. It works okay for some things. I'll make a help file and some attendent image files and put it up in the Cafe also. That way we would have two Novelty AOPs up and maybe others would jump on the bandwagon!

Sounds good how do I put the AOP up there ?
Also the images should I compress them so they are under a certain size.

I had trouble before because I did not compress my pallets and my AOP's were large.
I have solved that problem..
I also have icons for it so I guess it is ready to go ..
if you can let me know the fine details of putting it up..will do.

thanks Amzie

I am not sure about the size restraints in DAP Cafe. I had no problem with the AOPs I have put up there so far.
You need to register as a member of the DAP Cafe. This is separate from membership in this forum. Then you need to ask Oscar to give your member name permission to post in the Cafe. Since he is really busy I am not sure of the best way to contact him about this. Perhaps there is info in the Cafe's info files or you might start a new thread with a subject line making it obvious that you are asking him for posting permission.
When he gives you permission you are set.
