Broadsword AOP

Postby f2stop » Tue Mar 20, 2012 1:14 pm

The Broadsword AOP emulates wide, broad brushstrokes. It's quick. Stop the painting when the dry reveal step finishes; the stroke counter will resume, but nothing more will happen to the image. (This was the only way I could come up with to force a dry reveal without allowing any detail brushes to come into play.)

Papercut AOP

Postby f2stop » Tue Mar 20, 2012 1:22 pm

The papercut AOP builds up an image from a series of virtual pieces of torn paper, sort of like a collage. The pieces get progressively smaller to build up detail -- stop the process at any point that looks good to you. I think this AOP works best on contrasty images with sizable dark areas, like nighttime cityscapes. For more detail in some areas, you could define a detail mask, but that will obscure the chunky texture.

It's stored on a free file sharing site that has a rather complicated page. Be sure you only click on the link to download the AOP. It also has a 20 second delay to encourage people to have a pay account. Ignore all that unless you want to play around with it.

Now it seems to require a registration. Not acceptable to me...

The more the FBI hunts illegal uses (like MegaUpload), the more one-click hosters become useless. Get some real webspace, if possible.

No registration unless they changes since I posted it but I agree that the host is really lame.
However, I doubt that I am going to take the time to locate another host until I have another AOP to release.
If anyone who got it wants to post it on their favorite host site go right ahead.

I'd even host it on my own webspace afterwards. But sending megabytes via e.g. email is still not my most preferred way of data exchange... ;)

You have to sign up to be able to download it.
"Crafted-v3.dpk (7,385 KB)

You should Sign Up or Login to download this file"

Would like to try out this AOP, looks nice, but I do not care to register with some site to be able to do it.

I will see what I can do about it after I finish a photography project I am currently working on. If nothing else I could make it available on my Comcast webspace. I don't think they would complain about it but with Comcast you never know.

Try this and see if it works:

http://home.comcast.net/~netgrafx/Crafted-v3.dpk

Comcast has an 8 mb limit so some of my AOPs will not fit. This might just be a temporary solution.

I had to figure out how Comcast lets me make a web page. Unfortunately they make it more complicated than it needs to be.
