I love this image of Erythrina caffra, the lucky bean tree - used to have one in my garden in what is now Harare in Zimbabwe in 1964...
Two images, one using a single technique - Luigi's brilliant oil ink 09 09 14 photoreactor based method.
Other using a series of semiopaque layers in gimp, old master (minus vignettes), pop art, glamour, azo (on darkened subject) and on top of all Luigi's oil ink. Silly experiment of the day - to work out which is which you'll have to look at the captions as I have no idea which will appear first in the post... sorry motor neurone disease dementia rears its ugly head and I just cannot remember from day to day.
EDIT forgot credit - Wikimedia Commons photo by Zeynel Cebeci of tree in Turkish park.
FURTHER EDIT - composite removed - gains too small to make effort worthwhile, replaced with a couple of the more interesting parts, again featuring reactor painters: azo (on darkened subject) and golden age (vignette largely removed by crude but effective strategy of putting wide neutral coloured border and scaling original 5600 wide image by 50% and pasting in centre, then cutting 5600x5600 square out of 2x output)
