Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
It makes me super sad that the forum is there but I can't write anything. I have a question about the error handling for the CopyFile SysCommand. In case of error, can I catch the return code?

Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
I would be very happy if we could post in the MMB forum again. Can we somehow help with the spam problem?

Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
Nice spam. I have a contribution to the original topic. Here was/is another ancient program revived. After some Twitter posts, Microsoft has released the source code of an ancient program and the community is now trying to port it to the modern world: https://www.pcgamer.com/someone-tweeted-at-micro...

Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
hhm, maybe there is someone who specialized in this?
Of course I understand that you can't just open source it if there are licensed dependencies. But maybe the companies are willing to consider their licenses as legacy as well?
Otherwise... Alternative to phpBB?

Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
Why exactly does it not compile anymore? I'm sure we can come up with anything, such as a VM with all the software from that time. Is it cause of the VC6? I came across MMB super early, I had the privilege of having "internet" early in Germany, like 28.8k or something. lol. Oscar if you re...

Re: OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
Here are a few suggestions for phpBB configuration: HTTPS (Letsencrypt?) - I have noticed that this alone results in fewer login attempts. This may be because on the spammer side the systems are also aging (I only see this in the log). Anti Spam Bot Configuration - I use the "simple image"...

OFFTOPIC - regarding the forum
Hello, I'm writing this here because it doesn't work anywhere else. I don't understand why the solution against spam should be to close and archive the other forums. Just because there was no post for a few weeks, the MMB forum was still very useful for us. I am now thinking about archiving everythi...

Re: Is there any way to store external content in a dll or container?
If compression/decompression takes too much time/is undesirable, then I would recommend an image format like WIM. Mount the image at runtime and unmount it again. This can all be automated. Of course, it depends on the Windows version. Otherwise, use a different image format and a tool that can moun...

Re: Is there any way to store external content in a dll or container?
Well, fragmentation is practically irrelevant with today's file systems and data carriers. With an SSD, it is of little interest. Above all, look at how some programmes come along - e.g. everything based on Electron or Java. Nothing is "packed" there. Besides, you don't pack photos or othe...
