They don’t care.
You can create plugin that will merge and extract files from container. Or use zip as suggested, why don’t you?

MMB does not support Unicode.

Does that mean you won't be happy if someone will make plugin based on WebKit?

WebKit is the nice way for plugin developers (if they are still here)

Does error message stop script execution? If no, I guess it can be suppressed and script will continue silently.
