Ask for help here
If you are having difficulty figuring something out you can ask here and someone will most likely know how to do what you do not know how to do. If we pile them up here it will help keep the main forum from getting too cluttered.
All photos I use are my photos unless otherwise noted in the post.

Re: Ask for help here
Now I have a place to ask my question about masks!
I want to mask off a portion of an image and apply a slight guassian blur to the rest of the image. I have created the mask but cannot figure out how to use it from there.
I realize that it is probably simple but I am stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Ask for help here
Here's one way of doing it.
Take your main image and blur it as you want. Do a Blend Layers, and feed the blurred image into the box as input A. Type of blend is normal, 100% opacity and swap layers on. Now place a Merge Alpha building block and connect your main image to its left input. Place a Mask building block and connect its output to the bottom input of the Merge Alpha. Set the Merge Alpha to intensity. Connect the Merge Alpha output to input B of the Blend Layers. Edit the mask as required and it should allow the non-blurred section to show through.
See the diagram below for the flow.

Re: Ask for help here
Thanks. I'll give it a try. It seems like a lot of work for a simple mask.

Re: Ask for help here
Thanks Jeff,
I was also 'toying' with masks last night...thanks for sharing some 'light' on the subject.
I did notice that I had to 'Swap Layers' to produce the desired result.
...and thanks 'ane' for bringing the topic up!

Re: Ask for help here
Is there any transparent png/psd output? How? thanks
Re: Ask for help here
Wish I could say yes, but no...it has not been implemented yet. Remember, we are at the very early stages of Photo Reactor.

There is a fantastic feature called Group Mask Channel. I wonder if you can figure it out. Hint, first you need to group your effect...
