Many thanks Steve, kind of you (sorry for delay, health gets crotchety as years go by....sigh!). Unfortunately the Mac version doesn't stand up to a number of functions (such as transferring flows by means of jpg, and others) - it'll do the basics well (it runs on 'Wine', wish I could!) but falls over very inelegantly on a number of functions. So, I invest in a couple of licences for 'Parallels' and run the Windows version - that runs ok and lets me drag and drop files between Mac and Windows.

So, I'm 'digging in' to DAP and Reactor - absolutely terrific software but not the easiest to learn!

See your private messages, Pete.

Also, I suggest the following:

Read the DAP manual included with the program
Read the Photoreactor manual as well -- both of these are pretty helpful

Dissect some of the provided templates to see how they are put together by choosing one and editing it in the template editor.
Go into the template editor in DAP "editing" one of the newer provided templates and in places where there is a Photoreactor effect selected, "edit" that effect, which will take you into Photoreactor and show you how it is put together. Admittedly some of the ones created by Oscar are pretty complex but you can at least get some ideas.

Experiment! Experiment!

Thanks Mary. I did send a pm in reply to you, but I'm not sure if it was actually sent (I had two notices: one saying sent, the other not....hhhmmm!). Anyway, thanks for your advice - I'm doing plenty of experimental stuff and thoroughly enjoying it. Slowly but surely getting braver when time allows.

A new AOP for you guys to play with. I was looking for something like a natural watercolour style. Not sure if I succeeded tbh, but it produces some nice results:

Dynamic Auto Painter will work easily on OS Mojave but not catalina, I found an app which works for Catalina call Crossover which sorted the problem

Here you go!
Hi Mary

Complete newbie here, and I'm struggling to get to grips with DAP/PR (running on a Macvia 'Parallels' to persuade it that its windows). I know I'm no youngster, but its quite difficult to find resources that I can learn to create templates from (let alone PR stuff - and get back to DAP, it really doesn't like it on a mac).

Anyway, I thought I'd take a peek at your website but can't get beyond the landing screen of your opening page - its possibly a mac security thing as it doesn't like opening or running scripts from a 'non-secure' site. ls it just me, I wonder (I wouldnt be at all surprised!). I'll try juggling some security settings, but meanwhile any pointers/directions for learning sources would be most welcome!

:)
