Norton Security and DAP 5

Post by lcanter »

Norton Security keeps flagging and automatically removing the DAP 5 exe file saying it is 'unsafe.' Is anyone else having this problem? Restoring it isn't difficuilt, but certainly annoying.

False alarms are a common issue with every security application... I know already several reports of quarantined vital Windows components, original from Microsoft, preventing people from logging in again or even Windows booting at all.

What operating system [ and version ] are you running?

If you are on windows 10 my advice.... uninstall Norton and just allow Microsoft defender to protect your system.

I could go into details as to why... but pc security was a big part of my job and I have personally only been using Defender since windows 8. I do a lot of internet activities and have yet to encounter any malware issues.

Windows 10. It works fine for a while, maybe a few days, but then gets quaranteened. This has been a continuous issue with DAP 5 - I'm not comfortable with removing Norton if that is the solution.
Thanks.
